Additional Comments:
'Gypsy" is a 6 y/o Thoroughbred mare who never raced. She has been successfully showing in Beginner Novice CT's and Horse Trials for the past 2 years and has never been out of the ribbons! She has also been used by the University of Kentucky's Dressage team for their Intercollegiate Dressage Association shows and this March she placed 1,3, and 4 and was Reserve Champion in First Level after the entire winter off. She is schooling Novice stadium at home and has been to multiple cross country schooling's at Masterson and the Kentucky Horse Park this year. She would also be suitable as a low Hunter!!! She has been ridden by beginner to advanced riders as well as children to adults. Gypsy is a sweet mare and I am only selling to make room for another project!! She trailers well and is a pleasure to be around at shows. She is easy going, an easy keeper, and is UTD on everything. Please contact me for more details and pictures! **UPDATE 10/15/12** Gypsy has unfortunately developed a lameness in her right front ankle that bothers her when ridden in deep, loose sand as usually found in an arena. She is sound on the grass or on harder ground. Vet recommendations: ankle injections or a good joint supplement such as Adequan would most likely return her to full soundness. Price significantly reduced in effort to find her a good home! **UPDATE 10/19/12** Gypsy was seen by a vet yesterday to take xrays and we had some good news! After much flexing, jogging, blocking, and radiographing we concluded that she should be fine. The vet said she actually has great bone and very minimal arthritis in her fetlock joint. We did discover that the right ankle joint is bigger because she has a bone cyst there. He said most likely she has had it her whole life and that it doesn't usually bother them but could be something that flares up every now and then. It is quite a good distance away from the joint and so he said he didnt think there were any articular issues there. She was sensitive on her toe to hoof testers...probably a bruise. She went sound as soon as we blocked from the mid-fetlock region down. Some of the bone cyst/ankle was in the block but enough of it wasnt that he felt she should still have been lame at the jog if it was really bothering her and she was fine. We took radiographs of her foot, navicular, and fetlock joint and besides the cyst everything is in great shape! His advice was to stall rest her for a week and then see how she was. Very motivated seller & needs to move her out so the price is standing at $1500 obo!
