Additional Comments:
"King" is ready to take someone to the next level- we've owned him for 5 years and he will do it all- flying changes, collected and extended gates, lateral movements and low level dressage basics. He will lunge on voice commands. He is a 2003 Jockey Club registered American Thoroughbred with lifetime earnings of $48,259 by the time he was three, when a sesamoid crack ended his race career. He is sound to jump and has some serious speed when needed, which makes him appropriate for a competent rider, rather than a novice. He is Bold Ruler and Native Dancer bred. We've schooled him up to 3'3" and show him around 2'6"- he is still eligible as a green horse. We moved to rural Nebraska- now we mostly hack alone or with our other horse through the fields and down the country roads, and we feel his potential is not being used. We've moved on to foxhunting and he does not like the large group excitement of the hunt. He will, however, happily hack along through the woods, and has done well at several hunter paces in a solo setting. He is sociable and middle of the pecking order, he has always been well liked by all staff where we've boarded, and he has been at both large noisy barns and our rural barn and can handle both- does best with daily turnout. I have a young horse coming in to start or I would keep King and continue to work with him in the field, but I think he is best in the arena where his clean jumping style and perk and intelligence do him well. Feel free to contact with any questions. King will be going to the Farm at Butterflat Creek in Bennington, Nebraska, about 15 minutes from downtown Omaha. This is a foxhunter/hunter/jumper barn with indoor and outdoor arenas and a racetrack with cross country jumps, so it's the perfect place to come and see King go or schedule a trial ride. We have an ad on bigeg with videos as well: http://www.bigeq.com/p-Viking_Funeral-American_Thoroughbred-Hunter-12071.php
