Pretty flashy Strawberry Roan Appy mare for sale. English, Western, or Bareback! UPDATE: She just came home on 12 April from a year lease. I rode her the day she came home and she has some winter (and new home) energy and nervousness. I will give a $400 discount from her price this month until I work her back into shape. Price: $1750 -$400 = $1350 She's a beautiful Appaloosa who changes colors from white with some red speckles to almost all red in the winter. 14 y/o, 15.1 hands, has plenty of get-up and go! Some natural horsemanship and some reining training from experts. I used her for Search and Rescue and Mounted Police Patrolling for Mardi Gras. I've also done barrel racing, fox hunting, polo, jousting, etc with her so she can do it all and LOVES to compete!!! Give her something to compete against and she will fall in love with you! The last few years I've used her pretty much solely bareback in a rope halter but she knows English and western. Not a beginners horse unless you are taking lessons with her. She learns fast, moves easily, and loves to have a "job" to do. She and I also do no halter, no bridle, no rope, nadda, riding and she's good with all her ques if you work with her...even stops in a canter with only lightly pulling on her mane and stiffining your buttocks. She has been leased out last year and worked consistently in arena and trails. Ready for a new home! Perfectly sound horse, no leg problems, or vet issues. Easy keeper, doesn't need shoes (I use Boa boots if needed). Barn favorite! Here is a quote from the girl who leases her (she is leaving for college and can't keep her), I asked her to describe both Pecious' flaws and strengths: "Precious is the sweetest horse. She has great ground manners. She will stand and crosstie for the vet and farrier without a problem. She was even used during a grooming demonstration on a Girl Scout program, and didn't mind 10 eight-year old girls trying to pet her all at once. Precious has been fantastic at everything I've done with her. We've been trail riding down the C&O Canal Towpath and a bunch of trails on the farm where I keep her several times. She's spooked a couple of times at deer and wild turkeys, but hasn't done anything other than take a couple of side steps. In the arena, I've been working with her on jump courses that range between 2'-3' with the highest I've jumped her being 3'3". She could use some work not rushing the jumps. When I tried barrel racing with Precious, I discovered that she bends around barrels really nicely at the walk and trot, but could use work doing it at a canter." Thanks! NOTE: Would be willing to trade for a gaited family friendly horse. My new 15 y/o stepdaughter is intimidated by Precious' faster pace and willingness to go. Send email for more pics!
