Additional Comments:
I have owned "Hottie" since he was seven and have used him mainly for riding into back country lakes, trail riding, and working cows. He is as steady and reliable in the hills and mountains as they come. Not spooky or watchy, and won't come undone when unexpected things happen. He crosses bridges, water, and downfall without a bobble. Stands quite when tied, and will load into whatever kind of trailer you want him to. He stands nice for the farrier, and enjoys a bath and haircut every now and then. Ride him bareback to a pond or lake and enjoy a swim on a hot day. I took him to a few local shows for a couple of summers; he does very well in western pleasure and trail and will clean up in a halter class. He has very nice conformation: huge hip, good bone, lots of muscle, and nice clean neck and head with big soft brown eyes. He also has very nice feet (wears a size one shoe on the front!) and has never taken an unsound step. He moves nicely off of leg pressure, is soft in the mouth and collects naturally. He has no vices or nasty habits and respects any fence you put him in. He is very gentle and reliable and anyone who is comfortable on a horse will get along with him. I have also used him as a horse 4-H leader demonstrating things to 4-Hers and started roping a dummy on him a couple years ago. He is very tolerant and will put up with pretty much anything he is asked. He has been a pleasure to own and ride and has definitely been my favorite horse. (And, I have had my fair share!) The reason I am parting with him is because I moved to a different area a little over a year ago and don't have the opportunity to head to the hills on him as often as I used to. He goes to the arena, but is much more at home not going in circles. Can't really blame him as I am the same way! Although, I do think he would enjoy penning or sorting. I used him to check/trail pairs during calving season and he really likes to be in the cows! He has had very little use since I moved and it is a pet peeve of mine to let a good horse go to waste in a pasture. He is a good boy and if you are looking for a reliable, steady gentleman to see some country on, then he is your guy. Please feel free to contact me on my phone (208) 251.6510, or by email shufly333@yahoo.com if you would like to have more information. The most important thing to me is that he goes to a good home where he will get some use and provide someone with as much happiness as he has me. Thanks for looking.
