Additional Comments:
Lenten has been handled and trained from the moment he hit the ground four years ago. He's currently starting Parelli's Level 3 material, and on his way to being a bombproof horse. He is fearless and curious, since he's been trained to not fear anything from day one. If something startles him, he will pause and then want to go check it out. This horse has a very calm personality and is not going to run away with you. Lenten has excellent ground manners and travels to new places very calmly. He loads, stands for the farrier, washes, loves to go swimming, is an ATV on the trail (terrain doesn't scare him and he's very balanced and surefooted), clips and you can handle any part of him. He loves to play with his ball in the arena too. He's a hoot to watch with it. He is also ring broke but you will have to be a very creative rider to keep him from souring. He's very smart and if you're just doing drills in the arena, he's going to start acting up. He's going to need someone who can keep schooling work interesting, but more specifically, he needs a home where he's given a regular job. I am a dressage rider and Lenten is schooled to the saddle in basic horsemanship, but I feel he'd do well in the western world because there are events and tasks there that engage his brain. I think he'd be an excellent cow horse actually. He also likes to go over things and jumps beautifully, but I think that the schooling involved to make him a hunter/jumper will likely sour him on jumping. The bottom-line on ability, is that he's got very correct conformation and three superb gaits. He's very smooth to sit on. This horse is built to be an athlete and could do ANYTHING with the right handling/training. He's got a very good foundation and is ready for more specialized training. He loves to be handled and like learning. I keep saying that this horse needs a home where he's got a job. He's super sensitive, to both the aids and in his responses to the rider. I've trained him for four years now on the ground and in the saddle using natural horsemanship methods. He's always been given work that is engaging, so that's what he expects. I can tell very quickly when I need to change up our routine because he's so communicative. He's naturally a very calm horse, so as soon as you feel him wring his tail while you are riding or balk at something he's just done four times beautifully, you know he needs to back away from that and do something else. It doesn't spoil that task for later, you just come back to it in another session, and pick up where you left off. He usually takes one session to learn something and 2-3 to fine-tune it. Then, he's got it for good and never questions you on it again. This horse is has loads of personality, and he will talk to you every step of the way. He's going to be your best friend and will always take care of you. If you are interested in him, please come see him or call me for more information.
